The aim of this module is to introduce students to basic concepts of soil, water, plants, their interactions, as well as irrigation and drainage systems design, planning and management. It help students to develop analytical skills relevant to the areas mentioned in above, particularly the design of irrigation and drainage projects. At the end of this module, students should be able to understand the basic soil-plant-water parameters related to irrigation, understand how to estimate the quantity of water required by crops, be able to plan and design irrigation and drainage projects, design channels and other irrigation structures required for irrigation, drainage, soil conservation, flood control and other water-management projects.

The module has both theoretical and practical components divided into nine chapters/units. In addition, some exercises were provided. The online teaching will cover 30% and the remaining percentage (70%) will be covered face to face at campus after the re-open.

This module  "Reinforced Concrete design II" intends to help students being able to design advanced reinforced concrete structures.

Having successfully completed module, students are able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of:

i. Fundamental concepts, principles and theories of civil engineering.

ii. Principles of Design and code of practice of Reinforced Concrete Structures.

iii. Design Engineering elements and systems to meet a need, evaluate critically and make improvements of Practical Project Applications
