Applied Research

Course Objectives and description:

The objectives of this course are designed to enable students to:

(1) Define various terms relating to research

(2) Identify and discuss the role and importance of research in the social sciences.

 (3) Identify and discuss the complex issues inherent in selecting a research problem, selecting an appropriate research design, and implementing a research project.

 (4) Learn research methods and write a critical review of the literature on an economic topic of the choice

 

At the end of this course, the students should be able to:

i.            Understand some basic concepts of research and its methodologies

ii.            Select and define appropriate research problem and parameters

iii.            Prepare a project proposal (to undertake a project)

iv.            Organize and conduct research (advanced project) in a more appropriate manner
