Bridging Physics is a module of 7 units designated to equip students with a weak Physics background before they can be admitted to the Civil Engineering program. Classical Mechanics is well known to be a strong foundation of Science and Engineering. The module focuses on Classical Mechanics, which is expected to be important for the understanding of subsequent Science and Engineering modules. Topics for the 7 units include physical quantities and dimensional analysis; Translational motion of a rigid body; Energy, work and power; Rotational motion of a rigid body; Dynamics of a system of particles; Stability of a rigid body; and Gravitation.
