Introduction to literature

This module introduces students to literature from different parts of the world. The module shall be introductory in nature; it shall first try to define the different genres of literature, examine the 2 branches of literature, draw a distinction between oral and written literature, then use sample texts to closely study literature with a view to understanding areas, like themes, characterization, plot, style and language use, among other things.
