This course aims to articulate core principles that underlie public administration and good governance, provide an overview of the classic literature on public administration.
In addition, the module develops understanding of the meaning, scope and significance of public administration, public and private administration, principles of administration, evolution of public administration as a discipline, public administration as an art and science. It also promotes critical thinking about what constitutes good governance and also builds the knowledge base in governance. Students will have to cover the traditional and political institution e.g. legislative, executive and judiciary; constitutionalism, citizenship rights and responsibilities of state, right and duties of the citizen.
