Introduction to Digital Representation (CAD)

The Course aims to give a brief history and introduction to computer aided drawing (CAD). Learning CAD systems as hardware and software .Types of drafting, drawing, modelling and representational software such as AutoCAD and ArchiCAD are main content. Skills in creating a drawing, exploring drawing process, creating blocks, choosing drawing output will be communicated, also scanning, tracing hand drafted drawings, drawing curves and solid areas and the benefits and limitations of CAD.

Having successfully completed the module, students should be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding and skills of:

i. how the program are strictly and effectively used

ii. How to solve given tasks by drawing on the computer

iii. Understanding benefits and limitations of CAD-Program

iv. Decide independently when to apply which function of drawing of the program

v. Drawing and drafting on the introduced program

vi. Express ideas, designs with the computer

vii. Create detailed drawings and plans in every scale and on every paper size
